Dear Students, Teachers and Parents,

The challenge of a rapidly changing Chinese society is being passed on to the young people of China. It is exciting to play a small part in one aspect of these changing times: working together as a community in the years ahead to synthesize the best of Chinese and western education to offer a unique ULink College learning experience.

Upholding the educational philosophy of ‘Pathways for Purposeful Lives’, ULC looks forward to welcoming every aspiring student. We fully recognize that all our students stepping onto our campus have already laid a solid foundation of basic education through your previous academic endeavors. What we aspire to do more is to help our students reignite their passion, build up their confidence, and ultimately fulfill their dreams of pursuing further studies at world-class overseas universities, embarking on a promising journey ahead.

We are aiming in our strategic thinking to balance one system of education stressing rote learning and mastery of technical skills with another focused on critical thinking, dialogue through collaboration, and real-world application of knowledge and skills.

Memorization and rote learning has its place in students’ building a knowledge base of ideas and facts, but we aim to join this with meaningful dialogue, critical thinking, questioning, and authentic assessment to create a powerful mix in the development of a student’s learning experience. This requires our working together as teachers, staff, students, and parents to support our high expectations and to encourage students to reach them as far as they are capable.

We look forward to your joining and sincerely hope that you will have a wonderful and fulfilling time at ULC.
